THE BALLOON FIESTA

Running alongside the World Airship Championships the organisers wish to continue the tradition of the Dole Balloon Fiesta: 15 hot air balloons are expected to attend, all sponsored by local companies.

Continuing to support sick children

As happens every year, flights will be reserved for children with serious illnesses, financed by the companies sponsoring the event. With a sense of mutual aid and support, they offer them the opportunity to enjoy a pleasant moment of distraction with a balloon flight.
This undertaking is made in collaboration with the Dole, Besancon and Dijon hospitals and the support of many charities for sick children. All of the funds generated by the World Airship Championships will be donated to “Seeds of Hope”, the Franc-Comte charity helping the families of sick children, and supporting them through the hospitalisation process. As always, the companies are demonstrating their civic involvement whilst making dreams come true for sick children. (www.semonslespoir.asso.fr)
 

Events aims

• To encourage the cooperation of the 90 groups of villages/municipalities around a major international event.
• To promote the development of ballooning in the Franc-Comte region
• To demonstrate the commitment of local companies and organisations to the environment
• For the sponsor companies to show recognition for their employees by offering them a balloon flight: an exceptional and unforgettable experience.

A magical spectacle linking the airship competition with the hot air balloon fiesta, thus realising the dreams of young and old alike during a unique and entertaining event. Over and above the World Airship Championships, the Grand Dole region wants this to be a huge celebration for all.
